Dance Class!

It is finally time...  Lacey got to join her sister in extracurricular activities this year.  Lilia did dance classes for two years before recently moving to gymnastics.  It was a good move for her, and I kind of hoped Lacey would choose gymnastics, but when given the choice she insisted on dance classes.  I love that my girls have different personalities and different interests!  Her class is a ballet/tap/tumbling combination class.  They work on all three for 15 minutes each.

Lacey is a cute little ballerina. This is her posing all ready to leave for her first class.

Here she is sitting with the rest of the class in their tap shoes.  What a cutie!

Afterward, they remove the tap shoes and do some tumbling barefoot.
Finally they do ballet.
She is beyond thrilled to be in dance classes, and I am thrilled to let her take part in something she loves to do.  I hope she never stops loving to move and dance!

Old Dog - New Trick

It's not true, you know...  old dogs can learn new tricks!  I did...  see?

My first ever attempt at french braiding.  Okay not totally true.  I figured it out on a barbie doll first.  But not too shabby if I say so myself!  And the next day Lil gets the cutest curly hair!  :)

First day of school

I have been a HUGE slacker on blogging this year.  It's partly the PTA's fault, though.  OR well, my fault for volunteering with the PTA...  I am in charge of this year's fundraisers and we have decided to put on a Carnival!  Needless to say it's been a huge undertaking planning an event for 1200 students (700 families).  But that is neither here nor there.  This post is about my kidlets...  They had a great first day of school.  Lilia is getting so big (it is breaking my heart)!  She started 2nd grade this year, and is doing fabulous!  She is currently reading at third grade levels, and is just a little ahead of the curve with math.  Her new teacher is a no nonsense kind of lady, and I think that is just what Lilia needs this year.  I couldn't be more excited for my girl!

She got a new BIGGER bike for her birthday, but we gave it to her a week early so she could ride it to school with her friends.
And she is off!  I sure love that girl!

Lacey started her second year of preschool and is doing really well!  She seems to finally be catching on to letters and the sounds they make.  She is a great little counter and loves seeing her friends twice a week.  She is such a cute little ham!
