Saturday Stats

I spent all day Saturday being especially domestic! I joined some other women and all their peaches to bottle them up and provide ourselves with fresh peaches year round!

It's all about the numbers: (These are just MY numbers- for all the numbers and a few pictures check HERE)

3- boxes of peaches I purchased and were needing processing.

38- miles driven to join in on the peaching fun. (Round trip)

10- the time (AM) that I arrived for Peach Day 2008.

2- other women I joined to "Peach it up."

2- crock pots full to the brim with peach butter that I drove down that needed to be canned.

7- batches of jam I made while there. (I did most of the work on this, but Aleah and Jeri were AWESOME and helped me blanch and remove the pits for this)

20- lbs of sugar I personally used.

24- finished half pints of peach butter and peach jam I took home.

20- finished pints of peaches, more butter, and more jam I took home.

16- finished quarts of sliced peaches I took home.

6- the time (PM) I finished with peaches and headed home.

17- mph over the speed limit I was going when I was pulled over by the cop on my way home. (I was lost and too busy trying to find the right street to pay attention to the speed limit signs and my speedometer)

1- ticket I recieved from the cop that pulled me over.

9- mph he wrote the ticket out for. He was nice and cut it down to the "smallest possible fine."

80- the price of the ticket.

35- the state fee that goes WITH that ticket

60- the cost of traffic school so it won't effect my insurance rates.

And that is how the first half of my day went! When I got home I had MORE numbers to process.

2- the number of times Joe broke out laughing randomly because I had gotten a ticket.

1- poster for church that I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT in all the hectic-ness that was my Saturday.

2- displays for church on Sunday that I needed to get finished (and thanks to Rachel, I DID finish!)

1- salad I had to make for Sunday's dinner at my SIL's house.

1- Newsletter I had to finish writing for church.

2- people I had to call to get the info needed for said newsletter

90- copies of said newsletter I needed to print and staple to be distributed.

11- amazingly enough, the time I got to bed! Not too bad!

Our trip to the zoo!

Saturday we went to the zoo! All in all, the weather played nice with just a tiny sprinkling of rain for the first 5 minutes or so of the trip. The company my mother works for took all the employees and their families to the zoo and my mother invited us to join her. The girls (okay- Lilia) had a lot of fun, and the animals were playing nice, so we saw a lot of animals, and most of them were awake and playing!

So without further ado, the pictures: (Forgive me- there are a lot of them...)

Lacey after the sunscreen application

My mom and I posing with the Elephant. This thing actually squirts water from its trunk...

The girls posing in a boat next to the Ghost of the Bayou...

And then there was this guy... He IS the Ghost of the Bayou. Not albino, just white.

Lil taking a drink from the Lion's Mouth

Monkey to Monkey discussion

Not sure if you can see him (or is it a her?), but there is a baby monkey hiding behind Mommy's legs (or is that Daddy??)

Lil looking at one of the gorillas

Lil comparing her hand to the gorilla's

Lil participated in some game put on by Radio Disney... she won an eraser by hitting the froggie into the kiddie pool...

It's blurry, but oh well. This is about as interested as Lacey was in the animals. She liked checking out the snake while upside down

Lil checking out the boa (I think)

The owl checking out Lil...

Brass Tiger Races!

Cute kiddos

Two of my favorite monkeys at the zoo

This was the most active cat we saw... and this is about as active as he got...

The WILDEST animal at the zoo!

My favorite animal... well- maybe not this one in particular, but I do LOVE the penguins

Together we all weigh as much as a baby elephant! (Alone, I weigh as much as a baby rhino)

The water globe. MAJOR kid attraction

The kids before we could get out of the parking lot

And the kids wearing their souvenirs from Grandma (the shirts say See ya Later Aligator!)

Lacey can hold her own!

We have a little kiddie chair we bought a few years back. It is totally made of foam, and has a Winnie The Pooh cover on it. Lil used to sit in it all the time, and now, Lacey does too. She LOVES this chair. In fact, she has pretty much claimed it as hers. Well, when Daddy wants to watch TV from the ground he likes to rest his head in the chair (since it really is like a large oddly shaped pillow). So- what happens when Lacey sees Daddy using HER chair?

And just so ya'll know what exactly is going on with the background noise, Lil was playing Dora The Explorer on the computer and we were watching the credits for the incredibly FREAKY movie, The Skeleton Key. So yeah- loud and noisy, but at least I FINALLY caught on tape what Lacey does to ANYONE she catches using her chair!

Tagged!

I am somewhat glad my house is not a wreck today, since I was tagged by a pretty awesome friend, AM, and therefore have to post this here blog...

So the rules are this- you must take pictures of the following things, as is, no straightening up etc.

My fridge (kinda blurry, but oh well!)

My toilet (Yeah- that sticker has been on it since before we moved in... Maybe its time to remove it?)

My kitchen sink (Complete with clean dishes in the drying rack!)

My favorite room in the house (Well- technically that would be the girls room, but its a mess and Lacey is sleeping in there so you get my favorite room of the moment- only cause its GETTING SO FULL!)

My closet (WOW! I need to reorganize the top of it!)

What my kids are doing right then (As mentioned above, Lacey is sleeping)

(And Lil is helping me make this bread)

Dream vacation (Alaska was SO MUCH FUN! I will SO do it again someday!)

And lastly, a self portrait (I hate self portraits! Even when I have time to prep for them! Pay no attention to the clutter- Today is deep clean day for that room...)

I am, in turn, tagging 5 people: (Some I know well, others, I wanna know better!) Julie (best friend EVER), Beth (as in my swap buddy), Kristin (vFriend), Heidi (church), and Loots! I would have added my latest favorite blogger - Mamasphere, but I am not sure she puts personal pictures on her blog, so she can do this is she wants (since I know she is gonna read this!) But she doesn't have to if she chooses to keep personal stuff, well- um, personal...

Special Delivery!

A while back I signed up for a "Favorite Things" Swap. They gave us a deadline for when to have our packages in the mail... The deadline isn't up yet, but I was surprised to open my mailbox on Friday and find me package from my SWAP BUDDY! I was so excited! I actually had the package opened and rifled through before I even got back to my front door! And since this is my blog, and I wanna, I am gonna post all the awesome goodies I was sent.

Now, the rules for this swap were simple. Send in an email with your name and address and a list of things that you like. Then you will get a swap buddy assigned to you and you can read their list. BUT- you are to send them 3 (or more) things that are YOUR FAVORITES. My swap buddy sent me 6 of her favorite things AND a special letter! Each item had a small note of explanation... Here are the notes:

(haha! I just realized the picture is sideways! Oh well!)

Here is a picture of all the different goodies she sent:

and a close up of my favorite item of the bunch.

... Okay- its hard to tell what I was getting a close up of. It is the little giraffe card. It is SO DARN CUTE!

So as a breakdown, she sent me a super yummy smelling (calming) lotion. Some gel pens (I LOVE THEM! And the one I was using for writing checks* just ran out, so it was perfect timing!). Some Swedish Fish, the little giraffe card, a homemade birdies card, and a picture of her favorite actress. It was an awesome package, and I love, love, LOVE IT! Thanks so much Beth!

Now- just so she knows, her package is still in the process of being put together. I am almost done MAKING something for it, then I will pop it in the mail for her! I hope she is as happy with my package as I was with hers!

keywords...

For those of you not familiar with Google Analytics, well... shame on you! Okay- so it's fine for you to not know about it. But I LOVE my Goggle Analytics! It is a program you can add to your blog page to see analysis on your site. It shows you ifo like, where people live that are reading your blog, (no worries- it doesn't give addresses, just cities, and countries. It shows you how many hits you get a day, it shows which specific blog entries are the most hit, you can find out who is referring your site (such as I have had over 30 people hit my blog after reading something I commented on McMommy's blog. Anyway- its kinda fun to see all this info about my blog. WELL- one of the features is seeing which keywords are being searched for that lead people to your blog. Now- I have seen others do this and thought it may be fun, so here is a list of the searches that lead to my blog and my opinion on that search...

1. Voldemort carries Twilight in his purse Well- HE DOES! :)
2. a phrase with beyond, flowers, friends Ha! It's totally BEYOND me why anyone would be interested in reading about my FRIENDS and FLOWERS!
3. "sneeze attack" ?
4. a quick learner as whole Why- YES! I am... Thank you for noticing!
5. facebook flair One of my favorite features of Facebook, and at the same time, the bane of my existence a month ago
6. flowers lilie tattoo AWESOME! I wanna see it!
7. frills pictures well you will find TONS of pictures on my blog, but not too many of actual frills... That is until I start taking pictures of Lil in her tutu!
8. naming siblings flowers Lilia is as close as I will come to that. Though Ivy is kind of a cute name...
9. picture of haven Well I sure think so! My main picture is not just a haven, its totally serene! IMHO...
10. renaesme AWFUL name isn't it? Though I do like the kiddo, just thought the middle name was much better...
11. writing a sense of foreboding Didn't realize reading my stuff was so depressing! It's like I can just hear the depression in this person's search... Hope they found what they were looking for.

Photoshoot

We had pictures taken on Tuesday. They turned out AWESOME! (And yes- I have the rights to these photos, so I can legally post them on the net...) So of course, now I will share them with you all!
